A few years back I had the pleasure of working with a variety of amazing organizations throughout my community and several neighboring communities. While doing this, I quickly realized that every time one of these organizations would have an event, the immediate challenge was to get the exposure they needed to get a good turnout. Many of these events flopped because of poor attendance.
The question I pondered was why were these events so poorly attended despite being posted on their respective websites and calendars. The answer was obvious. While the events may have been amazing, most organizations lacked the consistent flow of online traffic to each of their websites to deliver the needed exposure for their events.
I looked for an existing service that I could refer these friends to so they could improve their event attendance. However, while there were several sites that claimed to be helpful, they ultimately weren’t. They lacked the key elements these organizations needed to promote their events to their respective communities.
That was when Shindio was born.
Simply put, it was developed from the ground up with the community in mind. Our key objective was that it had to be something that each of our communities could easily use and benefit from, where ever we’re located. While we’re off to a great start, we still have a lot of work to do to make it available to every community. But don’t you worry. We won’t rest until we’ve achieved that goal of serving every community in the United States.
As of the writing of this article, we have developed some amazing partnerships to assist us in moving this forward very quickly. Things are happening very rapidly and we are excited to offer this service to as many as we can as quickly as we can.
The Goal
Our simple goal is to become your default community calendar regardless of which community you live in. While our pilot program is starting off in Utah, our calendar will very soon list events of all types, sizes, and genres all across America. Then, when you’re looking for something to do for the upcoming weekend you can visit one single community calendar (Shindio), instead of having to go to 20+ different calendars.
While we are still young in our development, we have many tools that are currently being developed that will make your life easier, whether you’re an event or club organizer, a sponsor, or you’re looking for an exciting event to attend with your family and friends.
As someone famous may have once said, “We have only begun to rock the world.”
